Welcome to
La Casa del Castaño
The House Of The Chestnut
“What are two people from Denver doing moving abroad to a small town in O Rosal, Galicia Spain, that’s weird”, Pablo our architect tells us. We think it’s pretty weird too, and thought we should create this blog to share our unforgettable journey of leaving behind three businesses, our family, and our lives in the USA to start a new chapter in Spain, at our villa, La Casa del Castaño.
Our house is called La Casa Del Castaño, Castaño is Spanish for chestnut and our property has a large old chestnut tree. Chestnuts symbolize big change which is exactly what we are embarking on!
For a lot of people the idea of our journey seems out of reach, and impossible to go for. We spent our lives together, making the impossible possible.
Follow us on our adventure, as we renovate, garden, explore O Rosal, and a little inspiration on jumping into your fear, and creating a life worth living.
Our Spanish Villa
We purchased a 3/4 acre villa with an old wine lagar that’s been converted to a one bedroom one bathroom stone cottage, a two bedroom two bathroom home, and a stone barn from the late 1800s we are currently renovating into our future home.
